Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to paid Provider Map subscriptions and other paid services associated with provider listings and profile management. Submitting or approving a profile claim is not itself a purchase.
1. Cancelling a subscription
You may request cancellation of a self-service recurring subscription at any time by emailing support@providermap.com.au with the email address associated with your account and the provider name. We will confirm your cancellation by email. Enterprise Plans may have separate cancellation terms under a written agreement.
Cancellation stops future subscription renewals. Unless otherwise required by law, your paid access will generally remain available until the end of your current billing period.
After that period, your listing will normally remain public at the Unclaimed tier, without paid profile management or other paid features, unless it is unpublished for another reason.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically result in a refund for the current billing period.
A refund does not by itself cancel future renewals. If you want both a refund and cancellation, please ask for both in your email.
2. Change of mind
Provider Map does not generally provide refunds where you have simply:
- changed your mind;
- decided that you no longer need the service;
- decided not to use the service;
- purchased a plan that is no longer suitable for your needs; or
- chosen not to use some or all of the features included in your plan.
This does not affect any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.
We may, at our discretion, provide a refund or credit in individual circumstances. A discretionary refund or credit does not create an entitlement to a refund in future circumstances.
3. Problems with the service
If you believe Provider Map has not provided the service as agreed, please contact us and explain the problem.
Depending on the circumstances, we may first seek to correct or remedy the problem.
Where the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law gives you a right to cancel, obtain a refund, receive compensation or obtain another remedy, we will comply with those requirements.
4. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
For minor failures, you may have a right to have the problem remedied within a reasonable time. If the problem cannot be remedied within a reasonable time, you may have further rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Refund assessment
Where you request a refund because you believe there is a problem with the service, we may need to assess the circumstances before determining the appropriate remedy.
The remedy may depend on:
- the nature and severity of the problem;
- how much of the service has already been provided;
- whether the problem can be remedied;
- the period for which the service has been available; and
- any other circumstances relevant under applicable law.
6. Refund method
Where a refund is approved or required by law, we will generally issue it to the original payment method.
The time taken for a refund to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider or financial institution.
7. Subscription renewals
Where a subscription automatically renews, the applicable price, billing period and renewal arrangements will be disclosed during the purchase process.
Email your cancellation request before the next renewal to prevent the next charge. We treat a valid request as received when it reaches our support inbox.
We will not charge you for a future billing period after a valid cancellation request received before renewal. If a renewal charge occurs while we process a timely request, we will refund that charge.
8. Plan changes and upgrades
If you upgrade or change your plan, the applicable pricing and features will be displayed before you confirm the change.
Changes to an existing subscription may result in an immediate prorated charge or an account credit. Any applicable amount will be displayed in Stripe before you confirm the change. An account credit reduces charges on your account and is not a refund to your original payment method.
Changing plans does not automatically create a right to a refund of amounts already paid, unless required by applicable law or otherwise agreed by Provider Map.
9. Contact
For refund, cancellation or billing enquiries, email support@providermap.com.au with your account email, provider name and the charge or billing period you are asking about.
Provider Map may update this policy from time to time. The current version will be published on this page.
